Safety and Security Surveillance Officer

Geita Gold Mine, Geita

Position purpose:

Carries out tasks to help manage and prevent injury ,theft, and damage in the workplace.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Ensure a safe workplace for all employees, contractors and visitors by maintaining compliance with Occupational Health and Safety regulations, policies & procedures.
Contribute to Identify Safety risks, resolve and escalating emerging issues that influence area of accountability.
Maintain and develop processes to provide a safe workplace by supporting the internal safety programs.
Download and compiles CCTV footage for internal and external stakeholders as directed by the Project Manager or his designate.
Screen CCTV footage recordings for safety breaches and unlawful acts.
Checking surveillance cameras periodically to identify disruptions or unlawful acts.
Attend and pro-actively deal with any security incident, as directed by Project Manager.
Records all incidents in the appropriate format and write concise and accurate incident reports as necessary.
Develop and implement security procedures to ensure the protection of company assets.
Communicate effectively both orally and in writing with diverse parties and maintain confidentiality.
To perform any other duty as may be assigned by the Project Manager or his designate.
Essential Requirements:

A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar position.
Advanced Secondary Education/Diploma or above.
Relevant tertiary qualification in Security or risk management is a plus.
Proven work experience as a Safety & Security Surveillance Officer or similar role.
Industrial safety officer experience.
Underground mining knowledge.
Demonstrate high level of integrity.
Be able to work under minimum supervision.
Highly motivated and willing to attend work on call out duties when required.
Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines and in a multicultural environment.
Proficient computer skills.
Excellent surveillance and observation skills.
Tech-sawy with experience in surveillance systems.
Report writing skills.
Excellent Swahili and English language skills.
Well-developed analytical, problem solving and organizational skills.
Valid Driver’s License.
