Tanzania National Roads Agency (TANROADS) is vested with the responsibility of Maintenance and Development of the Trunk and Regional Roads Network in Tanzania Mainland. It is also responsible in conducting Axle Load Control Operations using weighbridge scales.

The Regional Manager TANROADS Coast on behalf of Chief Executive TANROADS is looking for suitably qualified and competent Tanzanian to fulfil vacant position available for Resident Engineer for the project of Upgrading of Nyamwage – Utete Road (33.7 km) to Bitumen Standard ongoing in Coast Region and Construction of Mbambe Bridge (81m) and its approach Roads (3.0km) to bitumen standard.

Position Title: Resident Engineer (1 Post) (Upgrading Of Nyamwage – Utete Road (33.7 Km) To Bitumen Standard)

Scope of Position;

The successful candidate should be ready to work for considerable lengths of time when required under minimum supervision.

Key Qualification:

Must be a registered Civil Engineer with a Degree in Civil Engineering.
A postgraduate qualification in Civil or Highway Engineering and experience in contract administration under FIDIC/PPRA conditions of Contract is an added advantage.
Must have a minimum of ten (10) years of specific experience related to Road/Bridge Design and Construction.
Must have served as a Project Manager/Resident Project Manager/ Regional Manager in an equivalent capacity on at least three (3) bituminous road construction of similar magnitude and complexity in the last 10 years.
Must have a working experience of at least 3 years in Sub – Sahara Countries.
Proficiency in written and spoken English is mandatory.
Duties and Responsibilities:

Shall head the site staff and shall be responsible for all technical and administrative aspects on site
To supervise contractor at site and force account operations
To perform such other related duties as may be assigned by Project Manager (PM) or Resident Project Manager.
