Airtel Tanzania PLC wishes to recruit for a Project Management Officer. The role reports to the Managing Director within Business Head Department. The Incumbent will be responsible for day-to-day monitoring and delivery of key business activities as per alignment with the OPCO MD’s office.Tanzania career opportunities
The Role Holder duties will include but not limited to:
1.Transformation Projects updates & follow up;
o Ensure signed off Project Charters for all top transformation projects
o Develop and deploy a tracking mechanism in consultation with the Project owners
o Monthly tracking / progress report:
Exceptional items requiring decision making / support from OPCO MD
Highlight Critical Path items that are at risk
KPI measurement / Output tracking
2.New projects progress update
o Ensure signed off Project Charters for any new projects
o Develop and deploy a tracking mechanism in consultation with the Project owners
o Monthly tracking / progress report:
Exceptional items requiring decision making / support from MD office
Highlight Critical Path items that are at risk
KPI measurement / Output tracking
3.Critical Weekly / Monthly projects progress update – as per weekly/Monthly projects stipulated in the Review and Governance Matrix
o Develop and deploy a tracking mechanism in consultation with the Project owners
o Weekly /monthly tracking / progress report:
Exceptional items requiring decision making / support from OPCO MD
Highlight Critical Path items that are at risk
KPI measurement / Output tracking
4.Weekly tracking of all key messages needing actioning sent out by MD.
o Develop a status and tracker for all key strategic / business messages sent by MD
o RAG status – exceptional items to be highlighted – issues that are not on track
5.Highlight any decision making / support areas from MD
6.Consolidation of all tracking items into weekly report for discussion with MD for closure
7.Detailed OpCo Business Review report progress reports on all projects running.
REQUIREMENTS
Educational Qualifications & Functional / Technical Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field
MBA essential
Relevant Experience:
Minimum 7 years of relevant Project Management experience in the Telecom environment (Essential)
Strong Analytical skills and problem-solving skills.
Excellent and effective communication skills, both orally and in writing
