Job Opportunity: Programme Officer – Agribusiness

Rikolto in Tanzania is seeking a Programme Officer – Agribusiness to support the implementation of two key projects: Vijana Kilimo Biashara (VKB) and the Joint Programme on Accelerating Progress Towards Rural Women’s Economic Empowerment (JP RWEE). These projects aim to enhance the inclusion of smallholder farmers in fair trading relationships, improve food productivity, and promote economic empowerment for women and youth in the regions of Singida and Dodoma.

The Programme Officer will work closely with farmers, local partners, and stakeholders, providing technical agronomic support, coordinating field activities, and facilitating market linkages. Key responsibilities include identifying constraints and opportunities within the sunflower and sorghum value chains, strengthening entrepreneurial skills among farmer organizations, and collaborating with private companies to promote sustainable sourcing.

Key Roles:

• Assist in identifying regional constraints and opportunities in the sunflower and sorghum value chains.
• Drive market linkages and build relationships with stakeholders to stimulate the supply of inputs and services.
• Support the development of business linkages between farmer organizations and private companies.
• Collaborate with monitoring and evaluation teams to collect and report program data.
