Job Purpose:

The Planning Officer will contribute to the strategic planning and development of content for the Economists Talk Magazine Unit. This role involves coordinating various aspects of the editorial process to ensure timely and high-quality publication.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Assist in the development of the editorial calendar and content strategy for the magazine.
2. Coordinate with contributors, researchers, and analysts to gather information and ensure timely submissions.
3. Conduct editorial reviews to ensure content aligns with the publication’s objectives and standards.
4. Assist in planning and organizing events related to the magazine’s themes.
5. Collaborate with the Economist and Senior Economist to integrate economic analysis into the editorial content.

Personal Specifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Planning, Journalism, Communication, or a related field; Master’s degree is a plus.
2. A minimum of two years of experience in editorial planning or related roles.
3. Excellent organizational and project management skills.
4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
5. Familiarity with economic concepts and trends.
