ICAP at Columbia University, a global health leader situated within the Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health in New York City, seeks highly qualified candidates to serve as a Health Workforce Specialist – Tanzania. The incumbent will provide strategic leadership, guidance, expertise, and technical support, and be responsible for the overall development, implementation, and management of the workforce development approaches and initiatives for the CDC-funded project.

ICAP seeks highly qualified and experienced candidates to fill the Health Workforce Specialist roles by April 20th, 2020. The incumbent must hold an advanced degree in public health, human resources, public administration, health education, or related fields. S/he must also have at least 7 years of progressive experience in national/international infectious disease HRH, training, workforce development, and capacity building at national or global levels. At least 5 years of which were spent in a senior project leadership role.

The incumbent will have a demonstrated track record performing human resource needs assessments, developing and reviewing various HRH strategic plans, involvement in the design and implementation of task sharing policy, facilitation of training in capacity building of health care professionals. S/he will also have experience working with international health or development organizations, governmental recruitment and deployment, and country ministries. Proficiency in oral and written English is a necessity, and the incumbent must also be willing to travel regionally/locally or overseas approximately 40% of the time.
