Introduction…
– The incumbent will be responsible for:- proactive response to identified business opportunities, providing leadership and direction to the business development and marketing team, leading business acquisition and retention initiatives to ensure achievement of set top-line and profitability targets, driving brand building activities aimed at making UAP Insurance as a world class insurer, readily recognized within Tanzania and the East African region
Minimum Requirements…
- Business related degree
- Professional qualification (ACII)
- 5 years’ experience within the Insurance Industry, 3 of which must have been at Senior Leadership
- Integrity and ethical values
- Should be able to exhibit great Interpersonal and communication skills
- Must be competent in planning and organizing departmental functions with a keen eye and attention to details
- Uses Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint effectively

Key Objectivesand Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a marketing strategy for UAP that is able to foster the achievement of set business goals in respect to top line, profitability, market share, client recruitment etc
- Develop and implement the advertising, promotion and public relations campaigns to help build UAP’S brand name and image in the market place
- Grow premium income in line with the business plan and ROE expectations
- Drive growth, product and sales training among all distribution channels so as to ensure maximum client reach and profitability of the relevant channels at appropriate cost levels including:
- Direct sales
- Brokers
- Agents
- Banc assurance
- Digital & Alternative
- Drive market research that is aimed at identifying new business potential and participate in the development of new products to fill special market niches
- Set customer care/service standards for the company and monitor to ensure that these are met

- Developand implement a marketing strategy for UAP that is able to foster theachievement of set business goals in respect to top line, profitability, marketshare, client recruitment etc
- Developand implement the advertising, promotion and public relations campaigns to helpbuild UAP’S brand name and image in the market place
- Drivegrowth, product and sales training among all distribution channels, including:direct sales, brokers, agents, branches so as to ensure maximum client reachand profitability of the relevant channels at appropriate cost levels
- Drivemarket research that is aimed at identifying new business potential andparticipate in the development of new products to fill special market niches
- Setcustomer care/service standards for the company and monitor to ensure thatthese are met
- Ensurethat subordinates submit accurate, quality and timely business reports and use these to compiledepartmental reports for review by senior management and the Board
- Ensurethat quality incentive schemes that help to drive the achievement of businessgoals are developed and implemented for staff and agents
- Monitorcompetitor activity and advise the senior management team onopportunities/threats that are presented by such activities
