Job Description


Jaza is a solar energy start-up, working to power Sub-Saharan Africa, where there are over 600,000,000 people living without electricity.

Jaza believes that a mix of people, technology and capital can connect Jaza’s market to the future of how people live and work around the world.

The company builds solar-powered shops, called hubs, which are used to charge batteries customers use to power their homes. A single hub serves hundreds of households. The company employs women from each Jaza community to run the service, empowering the Jaza team to become leaders, entrepreneurs and drivers of economic growth within their communities.

Our graduate program is a unique opportunity for passionate and dedicated candidates to gain work experience, skills and knowledge in key operation functions across the company. On this program the selected graduates will be exposed to fast-track experiential and applied learning opportunities which will build their competency in the industry.

  • Actively participate in onboarding programs and activities to get acquainted with the Jaza Energy’s culture, policies, procedures and mode of operation.
  • Complete courses designed to develop technical skills and professional competencies within Jaza Energy.
  • Learn across different departments or functions within Jaza Energy to gain exposure to various roles and responsibilities.
  • Get mentored by experienced professionals to learn about their job roles, mode of operations, and best practices.
  • Assist various teams with project tasks, assignments, and initiatives under the guidance and supervision of senior team members.
  • Collaborate across teams to solve problems, address challenges, and implement solutions.
  • Lean on supervisor’s expertise and work closely with peers to continuously improve your performance and skills.
  • Maintain accurate records of training activities, achievements, and milestones to track progress and development.
  • Contribute ideas, suggestions, and perspectives to discussions and projects, leveraging your unique perspective as a recent graduate.
  • Constantly research industry trends, developments, and best practices to stay informed and grow professionally.
  • Try improved processes, face challenges, see setbacks as opportunities for learning and growth, demonstrating resilience and determination in your journey as a trainee.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor degree or an Ordinary Diploma in Business Studies, Social Sciences, Human Resources Management, Education, Statistics, Community Development Studies, Rural Development Studies, Psychology, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy Engineering and any other course from a recognized university.
  • 0 -1 year of experience.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
  • Curiosity, eagerness to learn, and a growth mindset.
  • Adaptability and flexibility to work in diverse environments and roles.
  • Proactive attitude and willingness to take initiative and ownership of tasks.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-based environment.
  • Good communication skills
  • Passionate about serving others
  • Flexible, open minded and ready to learn
  • Must be a Tanzanian
