Organizational setting and Reporting:
This position is located at the United Nations Detention Facility (“UNDF”), International Residual Mechanism for Criminal Tribunals (“Mechanism”). Under the overall command of the Commanding Officer UNDF and the direct supervision of the Logistics Officer UNDF, the incumbent will provide support to UNDF.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare three daily meals for detainees;
- Prepare the menu and ensure that the food items take into account the age, health conditions and cultural habits of the detainees;
- Monitor the food stocks;
- Verify the food quality purchased; Perform any other duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Certificate in cookery and meal preparation an asset.
- Experience: Minimum of one (1) year relevant experience in food preparation for large groups. Experience in preparing meals for groups of people with different dietary requirements.
- Language: English and French are the working languages of the Mechanism. For the post advertised, fluency in English and Swahili is required. Working knowledge of French or Kinyarwanda is desirable.
