TANZANIA NATIONAL ROADS AGENCY (TANROADS) is a Semi-Autonomous Agency under the Ministry of Works established on July 1, 2000 and is responsible for the day-to-day management of the Tanzania Mainland’s trunk and regional roads network. Its primary functions include the management of maintenance and development works, operations of the network and Axle Load Control, the implementation of road safety and environmental measures, provision of advice on the strategic framework, policies and plans for the road sector.

The Regional Manager-TANROADS Lindi on behalf of Chief Executive TANROADS is looking for suitably qualified Tanzanian individuals to fill vacant positions available for Assistant Surveyor and Civil Technician. POSITION TITLE: CIVIL TECHNICIAN (1 POST).
The Civil Technician will be stationed at Regional Manager’s Office- Lindi.

   Key Qualifications and Experience:
   (i) Educational minimum qualification: Holder of Full Technician Certificate or Diploma in Civil Engineering from a recognized Institution.
   (ii) Higher qualifications will be an added advantage.
   (iii) Must have knowledge in working with AutoCAD or civil 3D.
   (iv) Must be Computer literate
   (v) Must be fluent in Kiswahili and English Languages
   (vi) Must be a Tanzanian Citizen.
   B. Key Duties/ Responsibilities
   (i) Protecting road signs, road furniture and road assets from theft/vandalism and distortion within the Region.
   (ii) Educating users and the public on matters related to road reserve.
   (iii) Informing/reporting to supervisor on any vandalism/damage caused on roads
   (iv) Performing other related duties as may be assigned.

Terms and Conditions of Service
Appointment will be on Contract Terms of two years, renewable subject to satisfactory performance.

The salaries for the post will be according to TANROADS Scales
