TANZANIA NATIONAL ROADS AGENCY (TANROADS) is a Semi-Autonomous Agency under the Ministry of Works established on July 1, 2000 and is responsible for the day-to-day management of the Tanzania Mainland’s trunk and regional roads network. Its primary functions include the management of maintenance and development works, operations of the network and Axle Load Control, the implementation of road safety and environmental measures, provision of advice on the strategic framework, policies and plans for the road sector.

The Regional Manager-TANROADS Lindi on behalf of Chief Executive TANROADS is looking for suitably qualified Tanzanian individuals to fill vacant positions available for Assistant Surveyor and Civil Technician. Apart from professional qualifications requirements outlined in the positions, candidates to assume the positions must be trust worth, responsible, reliable, accountable and with high degree of integrity. Applications are invited from suitable qualified and competent Tanzanians to apply for the following positions below…

POSITION TITLE: ASSISTANT SURVEYOR (1 POST)
The Assistant Surveyor will be posted to the Project Upgrading of Nachingwea -Ruangwa-Nanganga Road (106KM) To Bitumen Standard; Lot 2: Ruangwa-Nanganga section (53.2 KM)

A. Key Qualifications and Experience:
(i) Educational minimum qualification: Holder of Diploma in Land Surveying from any
recognized Higher Learning Institution
(ii) Higher qualifications will be an added advantage.
(iii) Must be Computer literate
(iv) Must have undertaken at least one (1) project of similar nature.
(v) Must be fluent in Kiswahili and English Languages.
(vi) Must be a Tanzanian Citizen.

B. Responsibilities of Assistant Surveyor
The specific responsibilities shall include but not limited to;
(i) Prepare and maintain sketches, maps, reports, and legal descriptions of
surveys in order to describe, certify, and assume liability for work performed.
(ii) Conduct surveys in order to establish legal boundaries for properties.
(iii) Record the results of surveys, including the shape, contour, location, elevation,
and dimensions of land or land features.
(iv) Coordinate findings with the engineers, clients, and others concerned with the
projects.
(v) Adjust surveying instruments in order to maintain their accuracy.
(vi) Establish fixed points for use in making maps, using geodetic and engineering
instruments.

Terms and Conditions of Service
Appointment will be on Contract Terms of six months, renewable subject to satisfactory performance.

The salaries for the post will be according to TANROADS Scales.
